Helpringham Feast Weekend 2017 - Helpringham Through the Ages to 2000

5th - 6th August 2017

This year our exhibition covered all aspects of Helpringham's history throughout the ages. On display were photos, maps , documents and artefacts from very early times to the year 2000. Among the artefacts were various objects which had been "found in Helpringham" including fossils, Roman coins and flint tools along with a selection of objects which had been "made in Helpringham" such as leather handbags and glass objects. Maps and documents illustrated the development of Helpringham Fen, the Car Dyke and the Enclossure of Helpringham while photos and artefacts showed the importance of farming to the village over the years. A highlight of the weekend was the storytelling as myths and legends handed down over the years were re-told.
